An evening to forget in Villammare at the shop I'm reviewing. We start with the service. Empty tables, we sit down, and no one sees us! After several minutes, a waitress shows up, and we decide, since it's a pastry shop and ice cream parlor, to ask for the ice cream menu. The waitress's response: there's no ice cream menu; you'll have to go and see the flavors at the bar! 😧. Meanwhile, I order an aperitif, which is served to us (I repeat, there were no other customers at the tables), a generous amount, after 10 minutes. Another waitress arrives, much nicer than the previous one, with a Northern accent and a polite manner, and apologizes for the wait. For the record, I ordered an Aperol Soda without ice. Anyway, for the ice cream, I get up, cross the street, and go into the bar to check out the display case. Listen, listen, on August 18th, out of twenty tubs, maybe only two were half full; the others had been missing for days, empty, and the ice cream counter was dirty. I give up 😭 I pay and ask where the bathroom is. The lady behind the counter hesitates, asking the "nice" waitress (the first one who came to take my order, not the kind Northern girl) if she can give me the key, but all I get is a "No! That's not possible. It's broken!" 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Which makes me think the evening started badly and ended even worse. The "nice" waitress's voice was piqued and mocking. Will I go back? Absolutely not Not recommended

They've gotten too big for the big pastry shop. The prices are now out of line for Villammare di Vibonati SA and the quality. I paid 20 euros for a 1 kilo pastiera compared to the 16.50 paid by Contadina in Battipaglia (a whole other story). Murlo in Policastro sells it for 15 euros but I haven't tried it. The product wasn't great. Low pastiera, too much sugar, imperceptible orange scent, wheat flavor that didn't reach the palate, sold in a plastic container, nothing like the classic Neapolitan one, moreover cooked and sold in a metal wheel. An experience not to be repeated, yet I had good memories of the old "Enzo" pastry shop which had prices and quality appropriate for the place that will always remain in Cilento. For me, never again.

Never again. Probably the only place on the Gulf of Policastro where "a few chips for the little girl" costs €2. I seriously doubt that the bars charge for the aperitif chips.

We ordered two coffees, one with a macchiato. The coffees arrived after a 30-minute wait at the table and were practically cold. We were asked to pay €2.90 when the price tag stated €1.20 per coffee. The surcharge was justified by the clerk, saying it was consumed at the table (without the price difference being indicated), that if we were in a hurry we could have consumed at the counter, and that it was only 20 cents more per coffee anyway. The day before, the same scenario, but €2.80 (random prices). Small amounts that don't make a difference but smack of a joke.
